SPRINGVILLE — The city of Springville is reminding residents about storm shelters, as a potentially dangerous storm system heads our way.
Three community storm shelters will be open any time the area is placed under a tornado watch.

Because of coronavirus, the city is asking anyone using storm shelters to abide by the following guidelines:
1. If you have been sick, or are not feeling well, we ask that you use the storm shelter at either the Sports Complex or the Fire Station. We have a separate room inside the shelter for you to remain separated from others.
2. While in the shelter, we ask that you bring and wear a mask, The mask can be cloth or surgical and does not need to be a N95.
3. Upon arrival at the shelter, we ask that you wash your hands or use hand sanitizer.
4. While in the shelters, please try and maintain Social Distancing guidelines.
5. Pets in crates are allowed in the shelters at the Sports Complex and next to Fire Station #1. No pets are allowed in the shelter located next to the VFW Building.
