PINSON — The Pinson Public Library has announced that it has entered Phase 2 of its gradual reopening plan beginning on Monday, June, 8, 2020.
The library, though still closed to public admittance, has expanded its operation to curbside service with the reopening of the return boxes and the acceptance of all items from any Jefferson County Library Cooperative member library.
The library will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursday from noon to 6 p.m.
Pickup items will only be available for materials that reside at the library. The library is unable to obtain materials from other libraries. Launchpads and mobile hotspots are currently unavailable, as well. The library will only prepare materials for pickup once a day. Upon pickup, the library asks that people follow signage and instructions located on cones in the parking lot. People need to remain in the car until a staff member has delivered the items to the designated spot and reentered the building.
For the health & safety of the library’s staff, it asks that all returned library materials will be quarantined for up to seven days before being checked in. The items will still be listed on the account until they are checked-in. No fines will be accrued during this time.
As a reminder, staff are not allowed to accept returned items handed directly to them. The library will only accept returns placed in the outside book & media boxes.
