TRUSSVILLE — Construction on a new church in Trussville is set to begin soon.
Christ Church PCA will be at 114 Watterson Parkway. The growing church needed a new location after operating out of the Trussville YMCA for the past eight years. The church has recently been meeting at Mathews Manor in Springville because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“We’ve gathered in a variety of places and are now excited about the opportunity to deepen our roots in the city of Trussville,” said Senior Pastor James Dickson.
The new building will sit on a wooded site that includes panoramic views of the city’s downtown area.
Trussville’s Design Review Committee approved the design of the exterior, which is reflective of the historic character of Trussville. The exterior features stone, brick and hardie-board siding, according to TurnerBatson.
The interior of the 11,600 square feet church will include a 400-seat worship center, gathering areas, adult and children’s classrooms, administrative offices, and multi-purpose space.
“This beautiful building will not change the heartbeat of our ministry,” said Dickson. “It will provide yet another platform from which we can share the love of Jesus in this community.”
TurnerBatson Architects is working alongside JohnsonKreis Construction. The building is expected to be completed in 2021.
