Our Queen’s Journey:
Our Caribbean Queen, Kathleen E. Joseph Guirand Regales, beloved niece, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend was born on January 9, 1936 on the island of Curacao to Stanley and Ursula Joseph.
Affectionately known as OG, Pearl, Ms. G, and YaYa; Kathleen lived in over five countries and several states. Aruba, Germany, and St. Croix rated as her favorites. She also spoke five languages.
Blessed by the Lord, Pearl was married three times. Her marital union to Samuel Haize produced three daughters, who gave her life’s most precious memories, seven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Joseph and Ursula Scholl; Maria Joseph (sister); and Vincent Durand (brother).
She leaves to celebrate her legacy of life her daughters: Virginia Thomas (Shannon) (Alabama); Joan-Ann Anthony (Lyndal Sr.) (St. Thomas); and Marlene Turman (Georgia). Uncle: Gerald Knight (Mercedes) (Curacao). Siblings – Cynthia Connell (Texas), Teresita Juliana (Curacao), Beatrice Janzen (Curacao), Shirley Jacobus (Holland), Marlene deRushe (Holland), Carl Scholl (Curacao), Celcio Juliana (Aruba), Marva Cummings (Connecticut), and Carol Lewis (Donald) (Texas). Grandchildren: Dave (Stephanie), Kathleen (Andrew), Ginelle (Rashad Sr.), Carlos, Lyndal Jr., Jolysa, and John. Great-Grandchildren: Solomon, Joshua, Ava, and Rashad Jr. Additionally; “Sweet” Pearl leaves to cherish countless nieces (Jemma Caesar and Beverly Welch – Special Nieces); nephews (Celwyn Walwyn – Special Nephew); cousins, other relatives, and special friends: Fannie Burton, Angelina Franklin, Mary McDowell, Matilda Coleman, Joan Sackey, Ann Benjamin, Linda Funderburke, Inez Williams and too many other friends to mention.
