TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is conducting an investigation following a weekend break-in at the Courtesy Buick GMC dealership located next to Lowe’s.
According to Sgt. Adam Filetti, a grey Toyota Corolla is missing, as an intruder appears to have entered through a garage door in the GMC body shop. Police believe the incident occurred in the overnight hours of Sunday, Aug. 16.
Courtesy Buick General Manager Drew Lolley said the facility is armed with surveillance cameras, which will hopefully aid in the investigation.
“It’s currently under investigation,” said Lolley. “We have video surveillance all over the premises, so we’re just reviewing all of that and gathering what we can to get over to the Trussville Police Department.”
Lolley confirmed one vehicle is missing and is believed to have been stolen at some point between closing time on Saturday at 6 p.m. and Monday morning.
“They broke in through a garage door in the body shop,” said Lolley. “As far as we can tell, nothing else is missing or damaged. We’re reviewing all the video footage and trying to piece together whatever we can.”
This is an ongoing investigation.
