WASHINGTON — A University of Alabama graduate has come a long way from his roots in Wedowee, Alabama. Jalen Drummond was appointed Assistant White House Press Secretary.
After graduated from UA in 2018, Drummond quickly began leaving his tracks all around Washington. He worked alongside political staples such as U.S. Rep. Mike Rogers and he eventually became an adviser to Secretary Dr. Ben Carson, with the Department of Housing and Urban Development. His most recent position was the associate director of research under President Donald Trump.
“Incredibly thankful to have been promoted to Assistant Press Secretary,” Drummond posted on Facebook Thursday. “No President has accomplished more at this point in his first term than President Trump and he has shown time and again that he’s not afraid to confront and take on the big challenges facing this country. The American people elected Donald Trump because they saw a fighter who could lower taxes, broker reciprocal trade deals, bring jobs back, secure the border, rebuild the military, strengthen alliances, confront our enemies, fight for the vulnerable, appoint conservative judges, and get the Washington Swamp out of their daily lives. Promises made, promises kept!”
LCpl Drummond is a U.S. Marine Infantry Rifleman.
