FAIRFIELD — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the second of two shootings that took place in Fairfield on Monday afternoon.
Just as officers arrived to investigate a shooting at Western Hills Mall, reports of a second shooting came through from an apartment complex in the 5000 block of Myron Massey Boulevard. Deputies responded to the apartment complex at approximately 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31.
According to a report from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the victim and another female were arguing about a Facebook post when a male suspect stepped in and opened fire on the victim, who was struck in both arms. She was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.
Detectives interviewed 30-year-old Corterius Kizzard, who admitted to shooting the victim. Kizzard was taken into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail. He is charged with first degree assault and shooting into an occupied vehicle. His bonds total $30,000.
