BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department has detained two people after a deadly shooting they believe was related to a kidnapping.
The incident began for police just after 2 p.m. on Sunday. Sept. 13, 2020, when police were alerted to be on the lookout for a white, four-door sedan that was possibly involved in a domestic-related kidnapping. Police received a tip that the vehicle was in the 2000 block of 30th Ave North, in Fultondale. While on the way to the scene, officers heard multiple gunshots. When they got there, they found 22-year-old Reginald Horn unresponsive. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded and pronounced Horn dead on the scene.
Detectives believe Horn was the suspect in the kidnapping of a woman he was in a relationship with and her sibling. They believe he drove the two to the location where he was shot. No charges have been filed.
Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Fultondale Police Department assisted the Birmingham Police Department in the investigation.
