TUSCALOOSA — A 27-year-old convicted sex offender is in custody in Tuscaloosa after multiple apartment unit break-ins, on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020.
Carol Robinson with al.com reported Corey Rashadi Ruffins is facing several charges, including resisting arrest and burglary, after at least five residents told police they woke up to a man inside their apartment. Police do not believe the residents had their doors locked when the suspect entered.
The Hub Tuscaloosa complex, off Red Drew Avenue, is a student apartment complex, according to Robinson.
The break-ins began around 3:33 a.m. and when officers arrived, police said Ruffins left the scene. Shortly thereafter, officers caught up with him and took him into custody.
