HOMEWOOD — A Homewood man is facing charges after police said he tried to entice a 12-year-old girl online.
Martin Brooks, 68, is charged with transmitting obscene material to a child and electronic solicitation of a child, according to Sgt. John Carr with the Homewood Police Department.
Brooks is the former owner of New York Pizza and Cameilla Café. He also created Dat Good Barbecue Sauce and Rub, which gained popularity in 2011.
Police said Brooks was arrested from his home in the 400 block of Yorkshire Drive, after an investigation involving Homewood PD’s Vice and Narcotics officers, who work with the FBI’s Crimes Against Children Task Force, and Interpol.
Detectives seized items from the home and those items will be sent to the FBI for examination.
