TRUSSVILLE — A new, innovative way of getting into shape is coming soon to the city of Trussville. HOTWORX 24-hour Infrared Fitness Studio will be opening in early 2021.
Owners Joe Elmer and Jennifer Bond already have locations in Midtown Birmingham and in Tuscaloosa. They have been spreading the hotness that is HOTWORX since 2018.
According to its website, HOTWORX is a virtually instructed exercise program created for users to experience the benefits of infrared heat absorption while completing a 30-minute Isometric workout or 15-minute High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session. Those benefits include detox, immune-building, weight loss, skin rejuvenation, improved circulation, lower blood pressure and less inflammation, Bond explained.
“You’re working out in 120 to 125-degrees,” said Bond. “It’s a dry heat, it’s not humid; so, you are still able to breathe in there.”
Virtual instructors from across the nation are available for two 15 Two 15-minute sessions and eight 30-minute sessions that members can choose from. Members get 24-hour access to the studio.
Bond said the most popular classes are yoga and pilates but there is a wide variety of hot exercises to tackle target areas. She said the workout is unique and can be used to supplement more traditional-style processes.
“If you do Crossfit, you can come into the sauna and do some stretches and yoga to really work out your soreness,” said Bond. “So, it’s good to recover and pair with your other fitness stuff.”
Elmer and Bond chose Trussville as a location after a suggestion from an acquaintance in Tuscaloosa.
“We were at our Tuscaloosa location and someone told us we should look into Trussville,” she said. “We saw the redevelopment of downtown and just heard really good things.”
The new location in Trussville is set to open in mid to late January. It will be at 106 South Chalkville Road, Trussville.
