BIRMINGHAM — A Vestavia Hills woman has died 10 days after being struck by a vehicle near Avondale Park in Birmingham.
Devyn Carder Danley, 25, died early Saturday morning at UAB Hospital, according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. A release from the coroner’s office says Danley was one of multiple pedestrians struck by a motor vehicle on 40th Street South at 5th Avenue South in Birmingham on Dec. 2, 2020.
According to reports, Danley and two friends were hit in a crosswalk near Avondale Park. All three women were transported to UAB Hospital where Danley remained until her passing. The other two are recovering.
The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the incident.
Danley graduated from the University of Alabama in 2018. She also attended Vestavia Hills High School.
