High school football season has come to an end in Alabama, but postseason accolades are still pouring out full speed.
Coaches recently released the Super All-Region Team from Class 5A, Region 6, and several local players garnered mention. The eight-team region consists of playoff teams Alexandria, Leeds, Center Point and Hayden along with Corner, Lincoln, St. Clair County and Moody.
Alexandria (11-2, 7-0) claimed this year’s league championship and advanced into the Class 5A quarterfinals, while Leeds (9-3, 6-1) earned a first-round playoff win in head coach Jerry Hood’s second year on the job. Both Center Point (7-4, 5-2) and Hayden (6-5, 4-3) dropped their playoff openers on the road.
Region 6 will remain as is for the 2021 season.
