PELL CITY — The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of The Grinch on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020.
The incident happened around 10 a.m. after someone reported seeing a suspicious person in the area of Cogswell. The eye witness said the person who they described as a “green, furry man” was carrying several large packages and was wearing a red suit.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they determined the person of interest was The Grinch. After questioning, deputies said they believed The Grinch was trying to steal Christmas presents in Pell City. The Grinch took off on foot but after a brief pursuit, he was taken into custody and booked into the St. Clair County Jail.
The arrest comes just three days after people in Trussville reported spotting The Grinch in the area of The Pinnacle.
The Grinch was given a special bond condition requiring him to help Santa bring joy to all the children and be full of Christmas cheer.
The Grinch is considered innocent until proven guilty.
