TRUSSVILLE – A new party supplier in Trussville is ready to serve the area with all types of balloon decorations and gift items.
It’s a Party Balloon and Party Supplier has been open at 107-B North Chalkville Road since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic. However, COVID-19 has impacted the way the store operates. For instance, the business has not been able to host a grand opening celebration. Owners George and Sandy Moore said they hope to be able to do something soon.
“We hate to have a mass of people coming in due to COVID, but maybe right before Mother’s Day we will have a grand opening,” said George Moore.
The regular operating hours have also been changed due to COVID. The store’s regular hours are Thursday – Friday, 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Saturday, 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. These regular hours are only temporary. For the week of Valentine’s Day, the store has expanded hours and will be open through Saturday, from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. each day.
The store offers much more than party supplies, balloons, balloon decorations, arches, balloon sculptures and gift items. They will also go to a location and set up decorations for any occasion.
George and Sandy have been in business since 1989. They have operated out of Western Hills Mall and Century Plaza. They came to Trussville to do business after noticing a drop in foot traffic and after a little motivation from their family.
“Mainly because all of our kids live out here,” said Sandy Moore. “From a business standpoint, the development of this area was a plus.”
Important to note, the Moore’s are the grandparents of Trussville football star Malachi Moore. Moore is now playing ball at the University of Alabama and was named Freshman of the Year. It didn’t take long for word to get around town that the star player’s grandparents were open for business.
“Everybody that comes in here says, ‘y’all are related to Malachi,” said George Moore. “One guy came in because he just wanted to meet Malachi’s grandparents.”
Sandy Moore said people are also happy to see a party supplier that is family owned and operated in Trussville.
“Everybody that has come in here has said, ‘we are so glad that you are here,” Sandy Moore said. “We have more of a personal touch. That is one of the advantages of being here.”
“We really are family-oriented, and we are just glad to be of service to the community,” George Moore added.
Not only does It’s a Party offer a personal touch, but they will also deliver.
Specials for Valentine’s Day include a 10% off coupon and 25 latex balloons for $20.
Sandy and George said they are already planning ahead for a busy season with Mother’s Day and prom just months away.
If you are unable to get into the store during hours of operation, you can call (205) 925-9541 to schedule an appointment.
