BIRMINGHAM — A Birmingham man that was found in a home after a house fire didn’t survive after being transported to the hospital.
Birmingham Fire & Rescue first responded to the fire on Sunday, May 9, around 12:17 p.m. The home was in the 1400 block of Lincoln Street SW.
Fire personnel found 70-year-old Phillip B. Hutchins inside the home. He was taken to UAB Hospital, where he died three days later, on May 12.
Birmingham Fire & Rescue is investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and the Birmingham Police Department is investigating the death.
