BIRMINGHAM — A homicide investigation has begun after a man was fatally shot in his truck on Monday afternoon in Birmingham.
The victim has been identified as Anthony Jackson Jr., 43, of Birmingham. Police believe Jackson was targeted.
According to a release from the Birmingham Police Department, the preliminary investigation indicates the victim was inside of his truck in the 1500 block of 29th Street Ensley when a suspect driving a silver SUV fired on him several times. Officers responded to the location shortly after 2 p.m. and discovered Jackson unresponsive inside the truck.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue later pronounced Jackson dead at the scene.
