TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is searching for the driver of a vehicle involved in a road rage shooting on Saturday, June 26, 2021.
According to a police report, the incident began around 8:16 p.m., on Interstate 459. The driver of a gray and blue older model Chevy Suburban slammed on the brakes as it was approaching the exit to Interstate 59. The two tractor-trailers behind the SUV had to brake and one of them swerved into the middle lane of the interstate. As the three vehicles exited onto I-59, one of the truck drivers said the SUV driver continued to slam on his brakes in front of him then he sped off at a high rate of speed.
Around mile marker 139, the truck driver noticed the SUV was parked on the shoulder up ahead. As the truck approached the SUV, the driver of the SUV then re-entered the interstate and the truck driver said eventually the driver passed him on the right shoulder and fired a shot into the right side of the truck. The SUV driver then exited the interstate at Exit 141.
The bullet traveled through the front of the truck and hit the antifreeze tank, causing a leak. The driver of the truck was not hurt.
The person wanted in connection to the road rage incident is a white male with glasses, driving a lifted gray and blue ’84 – ’86 Chevy Suburban with large tires and small rims.
