BIRMINGHAM — Authorities responded to a shooting on Interstate 59/20 in downtown Birmingham Monday morning.
The emergency call indicated a FedEx driver was shot in the leg, and Birmingham Fire confirmed that report. The driver was transported to UAB Hospital.
Birmingham patrol officer Truman Fitzgerald said it appears the driver and another motorist got into some kind of road rage confrontation. The other driver pulled out a gun and fired, striking the FedEx driver.
Authorities are still searching for the shooter. Al.com’s Carol Robinson first broke the story here.
