BESSEMER — A Hueytown man was killed in a head-on collision in Bessemer on Monday, November 1, at approximately 4:04 p.m.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), Robert Tannehill, 72, was killed when the 2021 Chevrolet Colorado he was driving collided head-on with a 2020 Nissan Kick driven by Lateshia Floyd, 36, of Birmingham.
For an unknown reason, Tannehill was traveling north in the southbound lanes on Interstate 59, approximately three miles south of Hueytown at the 116-mile marker, when he collided with Floyd.
The crash then resulted in two other vehicles being involved creating a four-vehicle crash.
Tannehill was pronounced dead at the scene. Floyd and her 2-year-old passenger, who was not properly restrained, were transported to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the ALEA Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
