MONTGOMERY — The Pinson Valley Indians won a pair of games at the Park Crossing Classic to go 2-0 on Saturday, November 6, 2021.
In the early game, Pinson Valley took on the host team and won a close one, 69-62, by riding the hot hand of sophomore point guard Caleb White, who had 27 points and 4 steals. White had 14 points in the third quarter alone. Terry Coner Jr. added 14 points and 7 rebounds, while senior Isaiah Sims worked the boards for 11 rebounds and took five charges on defense, as well as putting up 7 points. Raymon McCants popped three 3-pointers, going 3-4 from long distance. Cameron White had 7 points and 5 assists.
Pinson Valley took on a tough Charles Henderson squad in the afternoon and won 61-57. After bounding ahead 19-10 at the end of the first period, the gritty Trojans battled back to make it a game. Three Indians players scored in the double-digits.
Caleb White again led Pinson Valley, this time with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Cameron White was right behind him with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Terry Coner Jr. scored 12 points, had 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Isaiah Sims had 9 points, 8 rebounds, and took 8 charges against the Trojans, as well as dishing out 3 assists.
The Indians next play on Tuesday, November 16, when they travel to Center Point to play the Eagles at 7:30 p.m.
