BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office reports that an inmate serving a life sentence for a 2005 murder conviction has died in prison.
Calvin Moore, 70, was found dead in his Bessemer prison cell on Wednesday, November 14, 2021.
“The decedent was incarcerated at William Donaldson Correctional Facility serving a life sentence for murder from a 2005 conviction out of Jefferson County,” Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated.
“The decedent was being treated for significant natural diseases and was found unresponsive in his cell” Yates stated. “An autopsy was performed … to determine cause and manner of death and, at this time there has been no evidence of foul play or trauma found.”
