TRUSSVILLE — Trussville City Schools have announced the Teachers of the Year.
MAGNOLIA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Magnolia’s Teacher of the Year, Kimberly Hendrick!
Hendrick has been an educator for 19 years. Currently teaches fourth grade Science and Alabama History.
Hendrick’s co-workers who voted for her to receive this award said, “Kim is a true supporter of Magnolia. She is generous in her giving, and she contributes her time to our school and community. Kim leads our school’s United Way campaign, organizes our Secret Pal program, sponsors our Science Olympiad team, Pop Tops drive for the Ronald McDonald House, and makes generous contributions to our school’s fundraising efforts, teacher appreciation events, and more. Kim is a dedicated teacher who makes solid relationships with her students and their families, and she would be a fine representative of our school and system.”
Hendrick goes above and beyond for Magnolia. She works hard, cares about each student (past, present, and future), and is always willing to help. She is a great example of a Teacher of the Year!
PAINE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Paine Elementary Teacher of the Year, Shayna Swann!
Swann teaches 2nd grade and has over 20 years of experience in the classroom. She inspires students to reach their full potential and is a dedicated mentor to fellow teachers. Colleagues describe her as being innovative, thorough, compassionate, nurturing, and enthusiastic. Many have said she is a bright light at PES! PES is thankful to have her as a part of the Paine family.
CAHABA ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
Cahaba’s Teacher of the Year, Linda Woodfin Odom!
Odom teaches 2nd grade at Cahaba Elementary School.
HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL
HTMS Teacher of the Year, Mandy McIntosh!
McIntosh teaches 8th grade English at HTMS.
HEWITT-TRUSSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL
HTHS Teacher of the Year, Margaret Wickersham!
Wickersham teaches math at HTHS.
