MONTGOMERY — A two-game losing streak was enough to drop the Hewitt-Trussville girls to No. 6 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association poll. The Huskies dropped two in a row for the first time this season, losing an out-of-state contest to Lovejoy (Georgia) and a home game against No. 2 Vestavia last week.
The Huskies bounced back by winning their latest game against Spain Park earlier this week.
Clay-Chalkville received votes in the poll this week as the girls continue to win, with a chance to secure a regular-season 6A Area 12 championship against Mortimer Jordan this Friday.
