BIRMINGHAM — A justifiable death ruling and an arrest was made in connection to the shooting death of Center Point 17-year-old that occurred on Saturday, February 5, 2022.
According to the Birmingham Police Department (BPD), detectives have obtained a warrant for the arrest of Kambran Tremaine Young, 19, of Birmingham, in connection to the homicide of Chico Guest II, who was shot and killed at 10th Avenue North and 18th Street North.
“Chico Guest II was fatally shot during the commission of a robbery,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald said. “It is believed he and another male allegedly robbed a parking lot attendant. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office ruled Guest’s shooting by the parking lot attendant a Justifiable Homicide.”
Young was the second male who was also shot and was treated at UAB Hospital for non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. Detectives pursued charges against him under Alabama’s Felony Murder Rule.
“Birmingham Police Detectives presented information on the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office,” Fitzgerald said.
After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for Murder ($150,000 bond). Young is currently in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail.
