JEFFERSON COUNTY — An 18-year-old was identified as the body found in Brighton on Monday, February 28, at approximately 9:30 a.m., and a 17-year-old has been charged with murder.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Kendrell Laforres Body, 18, of Birmingham, was found in a wooded area of the 4400 block of Oak Ridge Circe in Brighton. Body sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault.

Body was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office investigated the homicide, and a 17-year-old subject was taken into custody.
He has been charged with murder and has a bond of $75,000.
