BESSEMER — The Bessemer Police Department has identified a Center Point man killed after being shot multiple times on Thursday, April 21, at approximately 8:10 p.m.
According to Carol Robinson at AL.com, 30-year-old Javail Lamar Hodges sustained gunshot wound injuries during a reported assault.

The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Berkley Avenue in Bessemer. Robinson stated that Hodges was shot while standing outside a vehicle talking to someone inside. The vehicle then fled the scene.
Hodges was transported to the UAB Medical West Hospital in Bessemer, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
No arrests have been made.
Hodges’ death is being investigated as a homicide and is Bessemer’s third homicide of 2022.
