LEEDS — The Green Wave barreled over Ardmore here on Friday, April 22, and washed the Tigers out to sea in two straight games. The win moves Leeds onto the second round of the playoffs, where they’ll take on Hayden. Leeds won easily in both games, 13-2 and then 17-0.
Game 1: Leeds 13, Ardmore 2
Caden Vance singled in the first inning to drive in the first run of the day for Leeds, and then the Green Wave exploded for seven runs in the third to pull away. Ardmore managed a pair of runs in the fourth inning, but Leeds was never in any serious danger, as they scored in every inning.
Alex Bradford went 1-for-3 with an RBI and scored twice, while Peyton Moore went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and scored. Conner Nelson went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI and a double. Jarod Latta went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double, 2 RBI, walked and scored twice. Dax Phillips went 1-for-3 and scored, while Seth Pardue went 1-for-3 with 2 RBI and scored.
Game 2: Leeds 17, Ardmore 0
Jarod Latta pitched a shutout and the Green Wave piled up the runs to stop Ardmore early and send the visiting team home in the first round of the playoffs.
Leeds put up six runs in the second inning and nine in the fourth while Latta struck out 11, allowing two hits and walking three batters.
Alex Bradford went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and scored twice. Peyton Moore went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI and scored twice. Conner Nelson went 1-for-4 with an RBI, while Caden Vance with 3-for-3 with 2 RBI, a walk, and scored three times. Will Landers went 1-for-1 with 2 RBI and a walk and scored twice. Andrew Howard went 2-for-4 from the DH spot, with 3 RBI and scored once. Seth Pardue was 2-for-3 with an RBI and scored twice.
Jonathan Douglas was 1-for-1 with an RBI and scored.
