WALKER COUNTY — A Walker County woman has been charged in connection with a home invasion that left two men wearing ski masks dead in Walker County on Thursday, May 26, around 11 a.m.
According to Carol Robinson at AL.com, 54-year-old Paula Charlene Painter of Carbon Hill is believed to have helped with the home invasion and robbery that killed Clifton Embry, 47, and Dewayne Turner, Jr., 47, both of Talladega County,
When the Walker County Coroner’s deputies and Carbon Hill police officers responded to the home of 27-year-old Timothy Wright near 4th Avenue Northeast and Marlin Jordan Road, they discovered Embry and Turner dead inside.
Wright was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Painter is charged with two counts of felony murder, one count of attempted murder, and one count of first-degree robbery.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
