BIRMINGHAM — A Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was involved in a traffic accident on Saturday, May 28, at approximately 1:44 p.m.
The deputy was traveling on a motorcycle, escorting a funeral.
Birmingham Fire & Rescue personnel is transporting the deputy to UAB Hospital.
“We are being told the deputy has non-life-threatening but serious injuries,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald said. “At this time, we have not been updated that this accident is anything other than a non-criminal traffic accident.”
