BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman killed in a wreck on I-59 on Tuesday, June 28.
Chalon Jumese Hinton, 37, was involved in a two-vehicle accident on the Interstate, near 4th Avenue South at around 1:30 p.m. She was transported to UAB Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 2 p.m.
Hinton “was the driver of a motor vehicle that struck the rear of a utility trailer being pulled by a truck,” Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates stated. “Reportedly, the truck had come to a stop due to stopped traffic on the roadway. The Birmingham Police Department is investigating the cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck.”
