JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Coroner, William Yates, is requesting the public’s assistance in locating the family of the following individuals.
Donald Lee Fowler, 81, of Birmingham, died on June 25, 2o22, at 3:12 p.m. Fowler was found unresponsive inside his residence in the 1400 block of 13th Steet South by a friend performing a welfare check.
Coroners say he died of natural causes. All attempts to locate family have failed. Fowler is known to have a niece living, but her name and contact information are unknown to Fowler’s friends.
Robin Anne Thomas (a.k.a Robin Thomas Herring), 58, of Birmingham, was found unresponsive inside the residence of an acquaintance in the 100 block of 58th Street in Fairfield on July 4, 2022 at 7:01 a.m.
Yates said the cause of death is unknown at this time, but there was no evidence of trauma or foul play. However, all attempts to locate the family have failed, and there is little known about Thomas.
Doyce Gilliland Taylor, 79, of Birmingham, was found unresponsive by Fair Haven Nursing Home staff at the Fair Haven Nursing Home in the 1400 block of Montclair Road in Birmingham, on July 4, 2022, at 3:01 p.m. Yates said Taylor died of natural causes.
All attempts to locate family have failed.
Don Robert Barclay, 73, was an inmate at William Donaldson Correctional Facility serving a life sentence for sodomy from a 1996 conviction out of Autauga County. Barclay was found unresponsive in the prison infirmary on July 7, 2o22, at 6:28 a.m., where he was being treated for significant natural disease.
Yates said the cause of death is unknown at this time, but there was no evidence of trauma or foul play. All attempts to locate his family have failed.
Esther Ruth Parnell, 79, of Vestavia Hills, died on July 10, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. after she was found unresponsive in her nursing home bed by Elite Nursing and Rehabilitation staff located at 300 Royal Tower Drive in Vestavia Hills. She is said to have died of natural causes.
The nursing home staff reports no family information.
Calvin Darrell Turner, 57, was an inmate at William Donaldson Correctional Facility serving a life sentence for murder from a 1988 conviction out of Etowah County. Turners’s cellmate witnessed him become unresponsive and notified prison staff.
Coroners say his cause of death has not been determined, and at this time, no signs of trauma or foul play have been found. All attempts to locate family have failed. Turner’s mother and other family are believed to live in the area of Gadsden, Alabama.
