TRUSSVILLE — A 22-year-old Tuscaloosa man is in custody after leading Trussville Police officers on a high-speed chase around 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 16.
Jakory Pierre Vital faces a litany of charges after failing to stop for officers in pursuit of his vehicle. He’s charged with attempting to elude police, reckless endangerment “and multiple traffic citations,” said Trussville PD Lieutenant Clint Riner.
” … at approximately 9 p.m. officers observed a black Mustang traveling north in the 1800 block of Gadsden highway at a high rate of speed with no headlights on,” Riner said. “Officers are able to catch up to the vehicle in the 2100 block of Gadsden Highway and attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle continue to drive at a high rate of speed moving in and out of traffic while turning on and off its headlights.”
Eventually, the vehicle was halted and police were able to make an arrest.
“The vehicle was finally stopped on Camp Coleman Road near Pinewood Road,” Riner said, and Vital was taken into custody and transferred to the city jail without further incident.
