James Melvin Kyle, 89, of Center Point, passed away on August 31, 2022.
He graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School class of 1951 as a member of the National Honor Society. He worked for Kane Miller Corp, Lumberjack Meats, Sunnyland Foods, Gold Kist, Home Baking, Richard Meat Co., and Pepper Enterprises. Jim was multi-talented and self-taught in woodworking, crocheting, mechanics, cooking, and a train enthusiast. He was a member of the Smokey City Rails Train Club.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tommy and Susie Kyle, and siblings, Bill, Bobbie Sue, and Kenneth.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Butler White Kyle; sons, Larry and Phillip (Jennifer); stepsons, Ken (Alice), Brett (Patty), Glen (Laurel); seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 3, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, with the graveside service immediately following at 2 p.m.
