Helen M. Jackson, 85, of Ashville, took her Heavenly flight to her home in Heaven to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 16, 2022. She passed at her home in Shoal Creek Valley, surrounded by her family and caregivers.
She was born on August 26, 1937, to G.W. and Pearl (Osborn) Boatwright of Chandler Mountain/Attalla, Alabama. She graduated from Ashville High School.
Mrs. Jackson was the wife of the Reverend Joel Max Jackson. In her role as a wife, mother, and Granny, she faithfully served her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, by actively being a Baptist Minister’s wife and a leader of the Woman’s Missionary Union in her church and Association. Her love for her God and others led her to be involved in many missions’ endeavors to share the Good News that Jesus Saves. It was her desire to see others come to a saving knowledge of her Lord and Savior. Most recently, she was a member of Greensport Baptist Church, where she led the WMU and taught an adult Bible Study class for many years. She truly exemplified the Proverbs 31 woman!
Mrs. Jackson is predeceased by her husband, Rev. Joel Max Jackson; her sons Timothy Dale and David Ray Jackson; grandsons Jonathan David, Aaron Michael, and Andrew Joel (AJ) Jackson; her parents GW and Pearl Boatwright and her brothers Ray and Ronnie Boatwright.
She is survived by her daughter Shari Kell (Jimmy); her son Reverend Mike Jackson (Lyn); her granddaughters Heather Eubanks (Lee), Ashley Mayer (Andy), Dr. April Yancey, Kimberly Culbreath (Scotty), Kristen Dowd (Brandon), and Kayla Beckham (Joe). She is also survived by her sister Peggy Ellis and her brother-in-law Terry Ross Jackson. In addition, she leaves behind to mourn her passing 11 great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express gratitude to caregivers Yolanda and Betty as well as her Hospice Nurse Lisa and the many others who were a part of the ongoing care of “Mrs. Helen.”
