BIRMINGHAM — A 22-year-old male was fatally wounded during a Birmingham shooting on Monday, October 24, at approximately 10:10 p.m.
According to the Birmingham Police Department (BPD), Keyon Pollock, of Birmingham, was found suffering from a gunshot wound after 9-1-1 received a call regarding a person shot in the 10 block of Elba Avenue.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service arrived at the scene and transported Pollock to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Pollock succumbed to his injuries a few hours later.
“Preliminary investigation suggests the victim walked up to a residence and asked for them to call for help as he had been shot,” Sergeant Monica Law stated. “Currently, there is no one in custody.”

This is Birmingham’s 115th murder investigation of 2022, including seven justifiable death investigations.
