BIRMINGHAM — A Birmingham man was arrested in connection to a robbery investigation that occurred on Sunday, Oct. 23.
According to the Birmingham Police Department (BPD), 23-year-old Derrick Hardy was arrested in connection to an armed robbery that occurred at the Best Convenience Store (1744 Pearson Avenue Southwest).

“Birmingham Police Detectives presented information on the case to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald stated. “After an assessment of the information, detectives obtained a warrant for robbery first degree.”
Hardy was arrested in Birmingham and is currently in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail under a $60,000 bond.
“The suspect reportedly walked into the business and pointed a handgun at the store associate; he stole merchandise from the business and then left on foot,” the BPD previously stated. “No injuries were reported.”
