TRUSSVILLE — ARK WinGS Gym is hosting its second annual Iron Sharpens Iron gymnastics meet Nov. 4-7, 2022, at Crosspoint Church’s “The Point” recreation facility.
The event will draw more than 350 gymnasts and hundreds of spectators in to see these gymnasts compete.
“We call it ‘Iron Sharpens Iron’ because we love how close-knit the gymnastics community is from gym to gym, coach to coach, and even judges and scoring system friends,” said Tiffanie Reed, owner of ARK WinGS Gym. “We make each other better and stronger. In Proverbs 27:17, ‘As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.’”
To make the meet extra fun, the event will hold a special session called the “Battle of the Gyms.”
“We roll which level will compete for our Battle of the Gyms rotating trophy,” Reed said. “That level will represent their gym with a chance to bring the trophy home for a year before returning it for the next year’s Iron Sharpens Iron meet.”
This year, that session will come from the newest competitors in Level One and will take place on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 2 p.m.
Each gymnast will also receive a warrior-inspired leotard.
“This year,” Reed said, “we took to heart what Iron meant in ‘Iron Sharpens Iron.’”
