JEFFERSON COUNTY — A man was arrested for the attempted murder of his girlfriend on Friday, Dec. 9, at 12:30 a.m.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 42-year-old Antoine Sentelle Spann was arrested when deputies were dispatched to investigate a shooting in the 300 block of Cahaba Forest CV Birmingham in unincorporated Jefferson County.
“Deputies arrived and found a 32-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound,” Deputy Chief David Agee stated.
The victim was treated on the scene and transported to the hospital in critical condition.
“Spann is the live-in boyfriend of the victim,” Agee stated. “Jefferson County investigators have determined that the shooting happened following an argument between Spann and the victim.”
Spann was arrested and charged with attempted murder, and he is being held in the Jefferson County jail on a $60,000 bond.
