JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has completed its review of the crime statistics for the year 2022.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the stats show an overall 5 percent reduction in major crimes, highlighting a 38 percent reduction in homicides over 2021 numbers.
“The reduction in homicides is a 5-year low, despite the Sheriff’s Office assuming investigations in additional municipalities,” Lieutenant Joni Money stated.
