BESSEMER – An inmate at William Donaldson Correctional Facility was found unresponsive in his cell by correction staff on Saturday, Jan. 28, at 5:34 a.m. Trenton Jamario White, 30, was pronounced dead at 5:48 a.m.
According to Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates, White was serving a 40-year sentence for robbery, discharging a gun into an occupied building/vehicle, attempted murder, and assault, from a 2012 conviction out of Calhoun County.
“The cause of death is pending additional laboratory studies, but an autopsy has found no evidence of trauma or foul play,” Yates said.
The Alabama Department of Correction – Law Enforcement Services Division is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
