CENTER POINT – Jefferson County Sheriff’s officers responded to a report of an assault Sunday, Feb. 12, at 12:16 p.m., at the 2500 block of 2nd Place NW, Center Point, where they found 36-year-old Roosevelt Beaumont Clark, of Birmingham, suffering from a gunshot wound.
Clark was transported to UAB Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 1:46 p.m.
“The decedent sustained a gunshot wound injury during a reported assault,” Jefferson County Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates said.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death as a homicide.
