BIRMINGHAM – A Birmingham woman was found deceased Tuesday morning, April 18, 2023.
Police were dispatched to the 8300 block of Fifth Avenue North at approximately 8:15 a.m. to respond to a report of an abandoned vehicle. Responding Officers discovered a blue four door sedan containing an unresponsive female.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. The cause of death has not yet been determined.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office later identified the woman as Ariel Cae Jones, 31, of Birmingham.
After observing the scene, Birmingham Police classified the case as a homicide and an investigation is currently underway.
