JEFFERSON COUNTY — One man was shot in a road rage incident that left him in critical condition on Tuesday night and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man they describe as a person of interest.
“Around 2:45 p.m., today, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to the Palmerdale Fire Department on Bradford Trafford Road in North East Jefferson County on the report of a person shot in a reported road rage incident,” Lt. Joni Money said on Tuesday night.
The incident reportedly occurred in the 7400 block of Narrows Road but the victim was transported to the Palmerdale Fire Station for assistance.
“According to witnesses, the victim and a passenger were traveling on Narrows Road when they noticed a vehicle following them very closely,” Money said. “The victim pulled his vehicle over and the other vehicle also stopped. The victim approached the driver of the other vehicle and the two argued. The driver of the second vehicle fired a shot, striking the victim in the abdomen.”
The adult male victim was transported to UAB Hospital, where he is in critical condition.
