TRUSSVILLE – A suspect broke into the Trussville Civic Center Monday morning, June 5.
Officers were dispatched to the Trussville Civic Center after receiving an alert that the burglary alarm had been activated. When the officers arrived, they found that the glass front door had been shattered by rocks that were located just inside. As officers entered the building, they heard a person and were able to locate and detain a suspect.
The suspect, who appeared to be in mental and physical distress, was evaluated by Trussville Fire and Rescue on the scene. Due to the suspect’s behavior, he was transported to UAB hospital for further evaluation.
Investigators are still gathering information.
