IRONDALE – The City of Irondale is hosting the third annual First Responders Cornhole Tournament benefiting the local charity Heidis Place on Saturday, June 17.
The tournament will take place at the old Zamora Shrine Temple located at 3521 Ratliff Road. Registration cost $50 for a team of two. Tournament play will take place indoors. Rain or shine, the bags will be flying.
Doors open at 10 a.m. and the tournament will begin at 11 a.m giving plenty of time for everyone to get settled and get in some practice throws. Walk-on registrations will be accepted until 10:45 a.m.
There are two divisions teams can sign up for: the open division and the first responder division. The open division is for all participants (13+) to register and join the tournament. Any team signing up for the first responder division will need to have at least one team member that is a first responder. Teams are allowed to either bring their owns bags or use the tournament provided ones.
In addition to the tournament itself, there will be a raffle and silent auction. All proceeds will benefit local children’s charity Heidi’s Place.
This event will be cooler friendly and participants can bring their own beverages, alcoholic or otherwise, so long as they are consumed responsibly. Food will be sold on site.
