LEEDS — The Leeds police department located and arrested a Texas fugitive wanted for sex related offenses on Monday, June 12.
Detectives with Operation Support Unit received information that the fugitive, Christopher Royal, was wanted by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division and was residing in Leeds. Royal is wanted in Texas for sex related crimes.
Detectives located Royal in the 1700 block of Dorrough Avenue. He was arrested on his outstanding felony warrants and transported to St. Clair County Jail without incident. He will remain in St. Clair pending his extradition by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division.
Charges are pending for Royal in Alabama for a Sorna Violation as Royal did not register as a sex offender when he moved to the city of Leeds.
