BIRMINGHAM — An unidentified inmate has died at the William Donaldson Correctional facility on Thursday, June 22.
The inmate was found by correctional staff unresponsive in his cell. The cause of death has not yet been determined, but Jefferson County Deputy Coroner Matt Angelo said there is currently no evidence of trauma or foul play has been found associated with death.
The unidentified inmate is the third to die at the facility in less than a week.
The Alabama Department of Corrections – Law Enforcement Services Division is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
