WARRIOR — A Warrior man was found dead after officer’s discovered a white SUV wrecked in a ditch on Sunday, July 23.
At around 3 a.m. Sunday morning, Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 8600 block of Rouse Road near Warrior to investigate reports of a vehicle on its side in a ditch.
Upon arrival, deputies found a white SUV that had rolled multiple times and came to rest in a ditch. The time of the wreck has yet to be determined. James Newman Whisenhunt, 33, of Warrior, was the only occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene at 3:10 a.m.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team was called to the scene and is conducting the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
