MOUNTAIN BROOK — A 10-year-old girl killed in a crash in Mountain Brook on Saturday, July 22 has been identified.
Mountain Brook police responded to a report of a wreck at 5:27 p.m. in the 3400 block of Cherokee Road.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s office identified the deceased as Annabelle Mullican, 10, of Mountain Brook was a passenger of a vehicle involved in a single-vehicle wreck. A woman and two young girls, including Annabelle, were injured. All three were transported to local hospitals.
According to a report from Carol Robinson, Mountain Brook Police Chief Jaye Loggins said moments before, the vehicle was seen on Old Leeds Road traveling at high rate of speed and then turning onto Cherokee Road.
Annabelle was pronounced dead at Children’s Hospital at 6:20 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding the wreck are being investigated by the Mountain Brook Police Department.
